Biography:
They came into existence “after a handful of chance encounters between the three of us. It is above all a collaboration of disciplines and an opportunity to investigate new directions in our own playing and composition. It has been exciting for us to discover this music and experience the freedom that comes with the honest exploration of our own ideas away from the strictures of a specific genre or tradition.''
Between them, they have performed across many genres, from the ethereal sounds of Arvo Pärt to the tripping grooves of the Dub Pistols, from the elliptical melodies of Nikhil Banerjee to the complex structures of Xenakis. It is this cumulative wealth of experience and knowledge which enhances their compositions and playing. The trio's success lies in their intuitive rapport the ability of each instrumentalist to adapt his playing to highlight the virtuosic qualities of the other. Intimate ballads blend with other tightly woven pieces and energetic rhythms. With music inspired by their predecessors, these artists are creating sounds designed not just for their own pleasure but with an intensity that will captivate any listener.
